    Because you monitor for Ford I hope you will hear my comments below. That Ford continues to install Crown Victoria engines in Town Cars is not providing a Town Car level engine for the TC. The price of the Town Car screams for a more powerful and distinctive engine. At least provide a "Power Option" engine of 5.4 L enabling the TC to not be plagued with the same engine as ...     They should drop the Crown Victoria name and replace it with the Falcon when the Australian Ford Falcon comes here in 2008. check it out here. Australian Fords

    Hold on and see what happens in 2006 and 2008. The new Charger police model requires Ford to upgrade the car, especially power, or they will lose a big chunk of the market.

    I've heard the rumor about a 2008 redesign based on the Aus Falcon, but not the Explorer... I'd like to think that given the popularity of Dodge/Chrysler RWD vehicles of late, ford would be smarter than to switch the CV/GM to a FWD D3 platform.     Today's Automotive News says that Ford is studying using the next generation Australian Ford Falcon platform for replacements for the Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis. The new cars would be slightly smaller than the current CV/GM. The new cars may be out as soon as the 2008 model year. The Lincoln Town Car would not go to this platform. Ford may also decide to continue producing the Panthers instead.
