Bought a used 2004 Escalade with 52,000 miles, 6.0 AWD stock. First tank with 87 Octane with 10% ethanol got 16.6 MPG, mostly highway. Second tank 16.8 MPG mostly highway with 87 Octane no ethanol. Just drove 80 round trip and got 18.9 MPG on my trip going 60 MPH.

Is Cadillac's Image Dying and Does Anyone Care?

The current STS is not selling well. It is smaller than the car it replaced, and that reminds me of 1986, when Cadillac replaced the bustleback Seville, which was a big car that was popular and sold well, with a much smaller European-inspired car. That car did not sell well either. I think history is repeating itself. The XLR is a great luxury sports car, (Light-years better than Cadillac's last attempt ... Read More

Cadillac is still much closer to the German makes in product panache than Infiniti, even with missteps. Cadillac does not have an intelligent key in their Escalade, nor a folding flat 3rd row seat, not even a push button start. Nissan Maximas from 2004 and up have either a push button start or fob to turn to start, without ever using a key (intelligent key). Cadillac doesn't even offer that on ... Read More

The Escalade saved Cadillac and may put them where they need to be if they spend a little more and do a few key things to bring this vehicle up to date. They need intelligent key, Nissan has been using this among their vehicles since 2004, Cadillac is a luxury brand they need to incoporate it into all of their vehicles. The need to get rid of the axle and get ... Read More

"I never said they wouldn't. You asked me for reasons why some wouldn't buy the CTS and get the C instead and I gave you some. What's the problem? " I believe someone else asked for those reasons. I wouldnt but the C class so I don't need any reasons why its supposedly superior. The C class isnt superior on any objective level. Not that its not a nice car. "The ... Read More

I am an owner of a 2004 "Out of the Blue" blue Escalade EXT. I always receive so many comments from other young men and women on the styling and the color. I am afraid to say that I am disappointed too in the new 2007 exterior styling. It looks like a gussied up Mercury Mountaineer, definitely NOT "a good thing"! I am hopeful Cadillac reads this and modifies the new ... Read More

Well 50k+ people in 2004 liked the Escalade. So what if the dash is bad, it sells. "Also, why is the analog clock located so low on the dash?" Hey just look at down at the clock and you will see the time! Folding rear seats are not available in the LX470, the Range does even have a third row. And many others don't either so don't diss the Cadillac. REAL ... Read More

Steve, I sure had interest in the 2003 Escalade ESV last year but I decided to keep my Mercedes ML500 another year. I even thought about the 2004, but now, the 2005's are here and the body style will change soon. I guess I'll keep driving my ML, most likly, for even another year until the warranty expires.   At this point, I wouldn't buy the current Escalade, I would wait ... Read More

No apology is necessary. My comments are directed at getting better products made. I have no ax to grind with Cadillac. I just want to see the best Cadillac SUV possible. From what I've seen of their future product with cars, they seem to be headed in the right direction. I do wish, however, that they would embrace AWD (for "ALL" their cars) like Subaru has. If they did, I would ... Read More
