SANTA MONICA, California — The long-awaited reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette will be streamed live via the Internet from the upcoming 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

Chevy's recent Corvette Facebook post says the event coverage will begin live on Sunday, January 13th at 7:00 p.m. EST.

In the run-up to the Corvette's official debut, Chevrolet has been using a dedicated site, One13Thirteen.com to release several teaser videos focused on different aspects of the 2014 Corvette.

Edmunds also published spy photo illustrations of the Corvette in mid-December.

The 2014 Chevy Corvette represents the seventh generation of the iconic sports car. It will feature GM's new LT1 V8 that produces around 450 horsepower. A seven-speed manual transmission is expected along with an optional eight-speed automatic. A fully redesigned interior with much improved seats and more luxurious materials is also part of the package, according to insiders.
