What Is It?
2013 Nissan Juke Nismo
What's Special About It?
Adhering to the philosophy that Nismo represents attainable, affordable performance, Nissan has slapped the badge — and about 100 new parts — onto the 2013 Nissan Juke compact crossover.
The exterior has been tweaked in traditional Nismo fashion, with a bigger grille, an aggressive front fascia, black side skirts, 18-inch wheels, a deeper rear bumper and some LED foglamps. The powertrain also got some attention from the crew over at Nismo. Output is up to 197 horsepower from the 1.6-liter four-cylinder motor (it was 188 hp). From there on back, everything's the same. The Nissan Juke Nismo is available in either front- or torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and with either a six-speed manual transmission (front-drive only) or a continuously variable transmission (CVT.) Along with new 18-inch wheels on 225/45 rubber, Nissan also stiffened the suspension for the Nismo version.
On the interior front, Nismo's sueded the front seats and added a Nismo logo, put a red strip at top-dead-center on the steering wheel and affixed a Nismo badge just aft of the shifter.
The 2013 Nissan Juke Nismo goes on sale in March in black, white or silver.
What Edmunds Says: The Nissan Juke has always begged for more power. We're not sure that this is enough, though.
