Worst brand new car I ever own

The bad: I had the car less than a month and the SOS module already failed and this is something Volkswagen has had problems with for several years. I just don't understand if they can't get it working why not remove it. The passenger seatbelt warning keeps going off even though nobody is sitting there when it hits a bump, I was told that's normal and I told the dealer my other car doesn't do that and the service tech responded not all car are made the same. They did fix it with the SOS. Apparently some are made defective. When I received the car back, the second key stopped working. The IQ drive is the worst semi-autonomous I had used. It's straight out dangerous. During long drives the IQ drive starts to drip from the middle of the lane into the middle of two lane fighting the driver for control and yes it has tried to throw me onto oncoming traffic in a two lane highway. The only way to correct it is by turning it off and on or changing lane. It is also unable to stay in the lane on curves. I own a Chevy with super cruise and driven Tesla and Hyundai semi-autonomous with Chevy being the best, but Tesla and Hyundai was reasonably safe. VW service is horrible, same level as Chevy dealers. VW experience and good: I've own a 2008 VW Jetta in the past and it was a good car with good gas mileage and great on curves. This Jetta which is the reason I gave it two star is still great on gas surpassing it's EPA rating, the only car manufacturer I've ever known to pass EPA rating same as my old one. I have done the calculation on how much actual gas it uses, it even surpasses the dash MPG by 1 MPG. This is why I gave it 2 star. Dash says 42 MPG, but using calculation car actually is about 43 MPG with mostly freeway driving. Steering is worst that my 2008, but the same as any other car. So if you want that European car steering feel, skip Volkswagen it does not have it anymore. Will I buy it again: NO!!

Jetta flawed acceleration

Ferriswheeler, 12/21/2023
2023 Volkswagen Jetta S 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo 6M)

2023 Jetta with manual transmission - ECU programming gives exaggerated acceleration delay to response from pedal input. During normal driving, after depressing the pedal and expecting the vehicle to accelerate accordingly, there is a delay of about two seconds before the vehicle suddenly and rapidly begins to accelerate. This presents two related safety concerns : The vehicle will not accelerate when needed to avoid an accident - the vehicle accelerates too rapidly after the delay, which has the potential to cause an accident if the vehicle cannot be slowed in time. Additionally, this repeated sudden and rapid acceleration and deceleration is likely to cause premature engine and drivetrain component wear/failure, as well as decrease fuel efficiency. Volkswagen told me the vehicle operates as intended. I'll pursue aftermarket ECU tuning software to correct this problem - which will cost several hundred dollars - and if that endeavor fails, I'll trade the Jetta for another Toyota. Either way, because of Volkswagen's response to my concern, this was the first and last Volkswagen I'll ever purchase.

Manual Rev Hang

Manuals Only, 12/20/2023
2024 Volkswagen Jetta S 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo 6M)

2024 Jetta S 6 speed manual has nice clutch and decent gear box. I will average over 40 mpg and satisfied with the vehicle for the price point. The main issue is pronounced rev hang at all rpm's. I'm not sure if this is programed into the throttle for the 8 speed auto but it's a mess while going up through the gears. Ironically it doesn't hang on the way down - heel and toe somewhat possible with the pedal placement. I expected some turbo lag and it is slow to spool up. Overall a solid body with minimal wind noise - definitely not a sports tune on the handling.

We bought 2 brand new 2023 Jettas. Both of them have mechanical/electrical issues that the dealership could not fix. I don't recommend buying any VW model because besides the horrible poor quality they now have you will also be dealing with bad customer service. So Hondas and Toyotas are the best for sure when it comes to quality and service.
