2022 Volkswagen Taos
Bought a VW Taos. At 350 miles the vehicle locked into 1st gear. Dangerous situation because we were on a major highway and trying to pull over while in 1st gear, it would not allow acceleration to avoid oncoming traffic. Finally pulled over and let the car sit for a while. Started it and again, the car was locked in 1st gear. I WAS NOT IN MANUAL MODE!! Took it to the dealership … who told me there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. Drove the vehicle home and at 405 miles same situation with my wife exiting a grocery store parking lot trying to merge into traffic. She could not accelerate the vehicle to avoid oncoming traffic because it was stuck in 1st gear. Thankfully merging traffic avoided her and we had the vehicle towed again to the dealership. We have had no resolution to this point, and the dealership has been just awful to deal with. I don't want to drive a car with a random defect that can end in a fatal accident. I am not going to wait for the 3rd occurrence to dispose of this vehicle. VW needs to deal with this!!!!!!!!!!!!
