Buyer Beware - This Vehicle Is Not To Be Trusted

2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB
Note this is a 2023 model. Really loved my EQB300 when leased it in July 2023. But within a few months, the troubles began. First, an error messsage that most of the distronic and other safety-related sensors were "temporarily disabled." This occurred on Garden State Parkway and disabled blind spot detection. Very dangerous. Took it to dealer who said sensors needed recalibration. A week … later it happened again. This time the dealer said it needed a software update. Two months later a third time-- and this was accompanied by the "power greatly reduced" and turtle icon, dropping the speed abruptly from 50 mph to 30 mph. After allowing the car to sit locked for an hour, it reverted to normal mode. Currently at dealer for 2 weeks where they say that a new rear motor is required with no ETA of the part. I have meanwhile opened a lemon law case since this is the third trip to the shop for the sensor issue. Again-- do not trust this vehicle or MB's ability to repair it. Note that I do not blame the dealer. They are merely following what MB support tells them to do. I look forward to my attorney achieving cancellation of the lease and refund of all money I've put into it. Oh-- and to add insult to injury-- the dealer does not have EV loaners so I'm back to an ICE vehicle paying for premium fuel. Exactly the reason I ditched my beloved and trouble-free GLE350 for this non-ready for prime-time over-hyped and unsupported EV.
