2019 Jaguar I-PACE
Your review is wrong, or, since they built the car you tested they fixed the problem. I bought a 2019 I-PACE in July 2019. I have the heavy regenerative braking option selected. I hardly use the brake pedal and drive almost exclusively with one pedal. The stopping power of the regenerative braking is more than enough for 90% of my braking situations. If I need emergency braking the … brakes are very responsive and smooth. The car is terrific and underappreciated by the media. The power comes on quickly, quietly and acceleration is as fast as my Porsche Macan Turbo. The interior is luxurious as you would expect from a Jaguar. Great digital screens, but with just enough physical buttons to keep you off of the touchscreen when driving. I've had over 60 cars in my lifetime, including many Mercedes, Porsches, corvettes, and Jaguars, and this car is the best so far.
Update: a year later with the car and I'm as high on it as I was when I wrote this review.
Update: I've now had the car for 3 1/2 years and it has about 22,000 miles on it. It's my daily driver. It has required almost no maintenance, other than the two-year routine intervals. Its performance has not changed--it's exciting to drive, but comfortable and luxurious. Friends who have Teslas complain about having to use the big iPad for everything. Jaguar has balanced touchscreen functions with multiple real buttons and switches. I bought the car out of the lease, and I'll keep it until the warranty expires in a year and a half--I'm still not sure I want to own it after that, but who knows? I have a deposit on a Rivian SUV, but the long delays in delivery have me thinking of another iPace when the time comes. I've seen no new EV's that I would prefer to the Jag.
Update: I've now owned my iPace for more than four years. I bought it out of the lease--good price and low miles on the car. It remains the most satisfying car to drive that I have owned. I've had very few reasons to take to the dealer other than routine maintenance and some software upgrades. The car handles extremely well and accelerates faster than my Macan or our MB 550SL. I remain perplexed as to why Jaguar failed to market the car which is a better vehicle than anything made by BMW, MB, or Tesla. It has an eight-year warranty on the battery so I'll probably hang on to it for a couple more years.
