Korea was right! This is a "Corner Rascal"

2025 Hyundai Elantra N
As of this review, I have 1,521 Kilometers on my 2025 Hyundai Elantra n DCT.
I have now one this car for approximately 1 month. I was diligent about the 1,000 kilometer break in period. I wanted to reach 1,000 quickly so I could see what this car was made for, I took a few 125 kilometer drives on scenic roads with some long winding curves and I have to say the way the car handles is … nothing short of spectacular, entertaining a curve and applying throttle the car seems to know and pulls you in the perfect line, I won't get into all the technical aspects but let's just say, it all works harmoniously and seamless.
This week I had the chance to go on a 300 kilometer drive where I could experience S curves, sharp corners & long straight aways. In each scenario, the car responded very quickly to my Input, in manual mode shifting from 3rd to 2nd into a corner along with its superior breaking felt natural, tires gripped beautiful and honestly it felt like the car was on rails. Coming out of the corner bringing it to 4,500 rpms the response shifting into 3rd was QUICK.
For everyday driving to and from work, I keep it in normal or sport mode. It's just another thing I love about this car, You can take it to the track and unleash the beast or you can very comfortably have the family in the car and drive around town.
N MODE: Some people like to use it all the time, for me in normal traffic it frustrates me, reason being, for me its like being at the starting gate of a race and you're just waiting for the checkered flag, but all you get is a caution flag for the whole drive. Don't get me wrong, its fun to pop it in N mode and hear those pops and bangs.
The Interior: Yes there is a lot of plastic. The suede is beautiful and nice to the touch.
I am 60 years old, 6'4 265 pounds. Yes the bucket seats are tight, who am I kidding? They are very tight, with that said, I have degenerative disc's, sciatica and arthritis in my left hip, once settled in, I am comfortable, my past car was a 2022 Kia Forte EX, even though it had comfortable seats with lumbar support, after and over drive, I was stiff getting out of the car, in the N, after a few 2-3 hour drives, I get out of the car with no pain. I'm not one to question it. It works for me.
The ambient lighting at night is very nice.
I have yet to do a launch, coming soon.
As a teenager growing up in Los Angeles I never got the opportunity to own a real muscle car, I always bought the car I could afford, not the car I wanted, The Hyundai Elantra N is a daily driver when you want it to be and it can be a high performance "Corner Rascal" I'm sure you have heard the term "Smiles per mile" when it comes to this car, well I can tell you, it's just not a cliché Its FACTS. I Look forward to getting behind the wheel.
Bottom line is this car will put a smile on your face make you giggle light a teenager, look no further, at this price point, you will not find a better performance car, it ranks right up there with Honda type R with the R edging it out, but not by much, and for 12k less, its a no brainer, and for me as a old dude with bad back that has driven sticks for a good portion of my life, I'll stick to the faster DCT and when I want to feel in more control, I just throw it in manual mode and use the paddle shifters.
