2005 Dodge Magnum
I purchased this after a long search. I didn't want a cookie cutter SUV and a pick up truck didn't have the covered space I wanted. I looked for and found a perfect fit in the Magnum. It is a Muscle Wagon, with 340 HP and 390TQ, this thing hauls the mail and hauls a$$!! Just for giggles, I shut off the ESP and burned rubber for a block. Impressive......the ride is smooth and … comfortable and though you won't confuse this with a F1 car, it does handle around the curves quite well. At 30 miles on my Interstate commute (I usually am doing 80...), I average 21 MPG. My Plymouth Sundance 2.2L auto is at 24MPG and 92 HP.....so this not much of a trade off. I really like this car. I found a 77K survivor with all the maintenance records, so this is like buying a new car. Highly recommend it!!
*********Update!
After 6 months of ownership, I average about 20, keeping at 74-75 MPH. I actually brought home a snowblower in the back and closed the hatch, 3 20"X8' pieces of plywood and have hauled the parents and my daughter and BF comfortably. In my case this was a great choice. I do wish the mileage was better, but the car smokes the tires at will and has excellent road manners. The BF Goodrich tires are so-so and this will be an upgrade when the time comes. I'd say it's quiet, nimble and comfortable, but don't get it angry, it'll eat your Camaro for lunch!!!

Car is comfortable, runs great, I have an ABS light on, I have to back track it, as I have replaced the speed sensor and still have the light on.
This was the 2nd time I loaded a Christmas Tree on the roof of the car and did a burn out on the way home to deliver said tree home.
Other than regular oil changes and next up a trans service, I expect to keep burning rubber for another 100K miles

The Magnum has been sitting for 3 months now, the victim of a bad solenoid plate. This is a Mercedes Benz part and they are VERY proud of it at $500. I found one on Rock Auto, but have yet to purchase. I have a friend who will assist me in the replacement, however, coordinating schedules is tough. All the AMERICAN parts are fine, the trans sucks....and replacing it with a manual is $8K
********************Update #4 12/28/2020
So, not being familiar with Mercedes Benz technology, I installed the solenoid plate and new fluid and filter. It still would not shift. I took the Magnum to Robbinsville Dodge/Jeep and paid for a diagnosis, in case there was something I missed. I would appear that the transmission and the speedometer (and ABS/ESC/ESP/BAS) get the speed signal from the axles. As a Christmas present from my fiancée, I had purchased the right rear axle and she had it installed. It runs, drives and shifts. I still have a U1417 fault and per the diag, it should be the left rear axle. That should turn out all the lights.
Once that has been completed, I'll be doing a brake upgrade and several other small upgrades to make it road worthy again. I have been driving it since the axle replacement and it is still a blast.

Both rear axles have been replaced, R1 Drilled and slotted rotors on all 4 wheels and new calipers.
We've been on a couple of long trips and the Magnum performed flawlessly. We've been avering about 21-22 MPG. 122K miles as of now.
UPDATE: At almost 125,000 miles, this car is more and more of a joy to own. I have removed the mid-muffler and the resonators and it rumbles like a muscle car. I have replaced the #2 O2 sensors on both sides and have had no further check engine lights. Fuel economy is 17 City and 24 Highway. I has passed NJ Inspection. I am not happy about the paint and the current owners of Chrysler Corporation who refuse to repaint the vehicle. The paint is water based and the clear coat is peeling off. A repaint is on the horizon. We really enjoy the Magnum and fits in nicely with our '70 road runner, '73 Charger SE 440 and 06 Jeep Liberty.
