2001 Pontiac Grand Am
I bought my 2nd Grand Am SE1 Coupe 3.4 liter in 2018 for 400 cash. The first one I had was brand new off the Show room floor and had nearly 700,xxx when and EF3 tornado killed "Lucille" for good.
"Christine" looks rough(typical curled dash, driver's side seat is rigged up, radio no longer will work no matter what we try, glove box has to be removed to close the vent for heat in the … winter, and typical rust spots on the rear quarters close to the rocker panels) but she's a beast. She bent a valve 90 days after purchase and was repaired but told she would live maybe two more months. It's 3 years later and she has thrown up a spark plug from the number 3 (front center) cylinder and still ran 3 miles to home.
That plug has a helicoil, was undamaged at the time of being ejected, and still running like a dream.
Christine has 296,xxx currently and her oil changes, coolant flushes are kept up. Her tranny fluid is good so no need to flush it.
She's still got a lot of get up and go when absolutely needed.
Definitely will buy another GA when and if Christine dies (I truly think she will not die, ever).
PLEASE CORRECT YOUR TRIM OPTIONS. MINE IS AN SE1 COUPE AND HAS THE 3.4 LITER V6.
