2020 Highlander advertised on Edmunds AND the dealer's own website for about $34,400. After taking a test drive and getting a trade-in offer on my car they drop an offer in my lap for about $38,200 - padded with almost $4,000 for LoJack and "Certification". Now go find any mention of that in the online advertising - nope, it's nowhere to be found. Basically, you can NOT buy the car for the price they advertise you can by the car for. So I wasted about 100 miles and 3 hours driving time plus another hour in the dealership. Fast forward two weeks. I've gotten 4 e-mails and no fewer than 6 phone calls, so I decide to call back and see if they have gotten serious about making a deal. Nope. Not budging. OK, then stop emailing me. It's now 1 month and they just tried to email me again: Spam Folder. Wouldn't trust these guys with the keys to the outhouse.

Presumably he agreed with the price or otherwise he would have told me and not make me come to the dealership. Asked me to come into dealership. When I came to dealership, salesman and manager asked me to pay thousands above the Edmunds Suggested Dealer Price. Deceptive dealer! I can honestly say that this was the worst experience I have had with a car dealership. I was less of a customer and more of a mark to the salesperson. I have been conned. These are not good people. I would like to just accept it as how the car business is, but I cannot. At the level of deception I experienced, I can only describe the business practices of Serra Toyota as a scam. To be specific, my salesperson was Kelsey Layton. I found that everything he said eventually turned out to be a lie. I was assured that if I put 1000 down I could get the new vehicle I wanted in 2 months. One month later, he tells me he cannot get it for me. He tries to get me to buy one I don't want for 10,000 more. I try to negotiate. He bumps the price up 5,000 more after not answering his phone for a few days. We negotiate it down and he sends me a sheet to sign in agreement. The sheet he sends me is for a cheaper vehicle than what we were negotiating on. They refuse to refund the original 1,000.
