Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsHighly responsive to pedal overlap from a stop. Obviously, with AWD, there was no chance of wheelspin. Remarkably linear power delivery and smooth upshifts. Manual shifts are too delayed to be of use here, so all remaining runs were in Drive.
Braking commentsExcellent consistency and remarkably flat attitude despite 58 percent front weight bias. Medium-firm pedal and no fade observed whatsoever.
Handling commentsSkidpad: Excellent balance with very mild understeer. I assume there was some power being shifted around, but I couldn't sense it at all. It simply goes where it's pointed without drama. Steering feels natural, and friction-free. Also, there was little/no interference when I turned the ESC back on and the near-identical On/Off numbers back this up. Slalom: Trustworthy grip, very crisp turn-in. The car takes a set quickly and transitions well. Again, very neutral bahavior but for the last two cones, when it began to understeer mildly. Standing on the throttle for these last cones helped quell the understeer and pulled the front tires past the timing lights. This is a very well-sorted chassis and AWD system. With ESC on, brake application just before the understeer began limited the ultimate speed. Not very prolonged intervention, but there are distinct electronic limits below the car's mechanical limits.
