LOVE, love It, Like it and sometimes hate it.

2022 Kia EV6 Wind 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)
Not completely sure if the reviewer drove the EV6.
Purchased AWD Wind with technology option. Could not find Gtl with color my wife would accept.
The highs: After looking at the Mustang Mach-E, and the Ioniq 5 I fell in love with both exterior and interior of the EV6. Love the Dash, love the control knob for putting th car into drive and reverse. Love the Sporty interior I feel like … I'm in total control some have used the words comfortable Cockpit and I do think this apt compared to the Hyundai and Ford, which is my like sitting in living room captains chair. I felt snug and comfortable and confident in the Cockpit from the get go. The Drivers seat held me in and so far no back issues which common in the many cars that I have driven in recent years. To know where I am coming from, My main mode of transportation when not on a bike has been the Chevrolet Volt which for a non Tesla car was one of the sportier options for an early EV and my seating is quite similar to the EV6. Also was not looking to emulate a SUV drive or look of an SUV which is why so many people prefer th Ioniq and Mustang over the EV6. Despite their truly beautiful styling they look like an SUV or crossover, more stylish than most other options out there true but nothing iconic about the above two. The EV6 is in a class by itself, its iconic styling and will not only standout but I believe the test of time.
The Seats are very comfortable, better than the Hyundai, though I would prefer as seats raise that they did not automatically tilt forward. The simplification of the radio and climate control is both a major plus and a major minus. These will need to be a learning curve no matter who buys the vehicle. The simplicity of them works, but the fact that one will inadvertently turn the dial believing they are changing the volume are actually changing temperatures will in fact take place. So not intuitive from the get go which is minus. Driving is sportier then both the Ford and Hyundai, despite what the reviewer contends. Not sure what car he was reviewing Frankly just a joy to drive. Now to be honest, I also loved and prefer my Volt driving experience. Especially around the city where I could zip in out of tight fits without issue as well as finding parking. This will not be the case with the longer and wider EV6 or for that matter any Crossover EVs on line or coming on line. So not the perfect urban car. But I bought it for our drives to our beach house 300 miles away. Lots of room for our travels and plenty of space for another passenger, yet better maneuverability than the other two options. Though Cubic inch wise in hatch is less than the Ford, it's better design to accommodate more without needing to take the lid off to the bottom storage compartment. Naturally that will change should one want to load car to the very top which then both the Hyundai and Ford will win utilizing the full cubic capacity of the cars. Something I'm not to concern with. I really wish that is said in these reviews otherwise one gets the wrong impression of utilitarian nature of these vehicles, especially the EV6. Just looking at the numbers one gets the wrong impression of utilization of the space and in that case the Kia excels. Of course the Hyundai does allow the backseats to move forward and back, so if hatch space is your main focus the Hyundai wins from both Ford and Kia. Feedback is to the road is more confident in the EV6 over the Hyundai, the system rides harder than the other two, but very responsive. So as far as being the driver one will love it. Have not been the passenger as my wife hates to drive, but she seems to have found it quite comfortable. Plenty for most people for the backseats . Now again every person will be buying for their and their family needs. I have no one who I know who is over 6'2' who will driving in our rear seats. Both for myself my wife and daughter is more than ample room for feet and head and with the ability to adjust seat back, plenty of room to fall asleep in. Also love the placement of the climate vents and the usb c ports. Oh and nice seat pockets compared to the Hyundai, more first class than tourist in that regards as well as placement of ports and climate control. No ski slide through on the wind back seat unfortunately that's on the AWD Gtl. Most reviews they are doing the top of line GTL. Heated and cooling seats as well as heated steering wheel, work well, and many cases will keep one from needing the heat and air conditioning thus saving you some range anxiety. And despite the reviews grip on placement, I find placement of those controls perfect for both passenger and driver. Those are intuitive where on the Hyundai and Ford I did not find them as intuitive and the Kia.
The Lows and I mean a real low. Editorial, Kia please please fix this with software upgrade. For those of us without the top price models we do not get augmented information on windshield which would take away from this editorial. But for us in the Wind or Base cars we are driving with speed occluded by steering on left side of dash. Depending on steering wheel position almost totally obstructed. Not cool, not safe. instead they have this center portion that looks cool but does not give the necessary safety and speed information in the center. Waste of real estate and frankly a safety hazard. Put the Speed on the Center as well as tire pressure and EV miles left to drive and all the other non sense information on the side. Driving is first and foremost about safety and the front dash is total fail on that end. And yet I did buy the EV6. Okay okay, I'm just a village idiot so what do I know. However, Hear this Kia do something about that driver Dash. Who knows could be epic lawsuit on that end. Other lows, Only on optimum conditions will you charge up with rates stated. However that is the case with every bloody EV out there so take any review on charging times with a grain of salt.
As far as obstruction, it's true hard to see out rear window as well as side windows. I opted for a car with the technology package for safety so I could have better side visibility when changing lanes. The package comes on all top of the line models and option on Wind model AWD. I got it mainly for the ability to see the car on the side of me through the camera thus taking out a X factor. With the package I feel far more comfortable with visibility.
And why no rear windshield wiper, I know that EVs try to save as much battery as possible, but you put power seats in, power this power that, how about a little safety a lousy rear windshield wiper.
It's enough from me now have a great day, afternoon and evening. And yes do I have second thoughts on the Kia, some but for the most part I'm very happy.
