So far can't complain

So far so good after 20,000 miles. I leased the ML used with 46,000 miles included a 2 year Starmark warranty. The rate was so low I could not pass it up. I have only had it in once to correct the rear tailgate lock. I live 65 miles from the dealer so I buy my own filter and get the oil changed at Walmart with Mobil 1 for under $50. My thought is only use the dealer if you have to. I have the same complaints with the quirky layout of the cup holders and window switches. Overall it has been a pleasure to own and drive. Would consider getting another if the deal was right.

Loved the car for the past 18yrs

Have this car for the past 14years. Very much love my car because how reliable it is for me to get around. Usually the car don't have any major issue except for the normal wear and tear (e.g break pad, rotors, head light, minor oil leak). What I love about this car is that is made in the USA, except for the engine, which means that when they have to make any repairs it won't cost me an arm or a leg for the parts. Most expensive repairs I have to make was to put a new AC after the car reaches age 10. Unfortunately, my car has reach its limit and the cost to repair the car is not worth the value of the car. I will say this car was worth what I paid for and I will buy another Mercedes again.

Well-engineered and poorly assembled SUV

It is not an extreme off road machine, or a full time all wheel drive hot rod. It is a tall minivan; so don’t expect a smooth ride like any MB sedan. Gas mileage is in the mid 20s, which is not bad for such a heavy car. The poor off road capability is due to the OEM tires. Once I replaced the stock 255x65x16 with a set of off road tires, my ML will go most places just like other mid size 4X4. MB needs to cut corners in materials to keep the sticker low. My only complaints are the doors. MB must have sub contracted the door design to Chrysler. ML door does not shut like German automobile at all. Driving lights could use some improvement. I added a set of driving lights to aid visibility.

ml review .. i have owned 7 x mbz vehicles and at this time own 2. the ml has been all would expect from mbz, in its ride, durability, and performance. i have never had ONE problem with the 2 ml's have owned, (sold the 1st at 123,000 miles) and would not hesitate to recommend one to others. it is a vehicle ready to perform, road ready as well as crash ready. having owned everything from 300d's through 430clk models, i have to call the ml a true merc. NOTE, I WONDER WHY THERE IS NO US MODEL ML WITH THE FOREVER RUNNING INLINE 6 DIESEL ENGINE.?? this would truly be a vehicle to own. FYI I HAVE AN ASSOCIATE WITH A ML '98 MDL THAT HAS JUST TURNED 232,000 MILES.
