2023 INFINITI Q50 SENSORY 4dr Sedan AWD (3.0L 6cyl Turbo 7A)
Our first experience with Infinity was a 1997 Q-45. It was the best car we ever owned. Super comfortable, plenty of power, logical controls, but above all, incredibly quiet inside.
Over the years we have had 4 others and things have gone steadily downhill. The last one left us when it began making a constant clicking noise in the AC system. Repair would be $4,000 on a car worth … about twice that. Soooo, we arrive at the 2023.
First, the damn road noise. Why they cannot build a quiet car is beyond me; they know how as they did it before.
Then I learned that there is no spare tire ! "run flat" tires. Yeah, for how long? We're 80 years old and do not like uncertainty, such as not being able to change a flat tire, but must wonder what to do if a tire goes flat at night or on a weekend. This is just plain stupid.
Then the climate controls. First, much too complicated. Heated seats, but not cooled - they did that years ago, why stop? In the dual mode, the temp goes up and down and my wife is constantly freezing or sweating. Can't have heat from floor on her side and cool air from dash on my side. Constant argument.
What the manufacturers cannot understand is that very few people ever use most of these "features." Most, like us, will never use them. They add these for marketing purposes, so they can say that "we" have more XYZ that the other guy.
UPDATE: after 2 years. Nothing has changed. Still don't like the car.
