Dealership Sales Review
Overall, Reiko Johnson - our sales agent - was great. She was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, pleasant, responsive and I would highly recommend seeking her out amongst the staff at this particular dealership. As usual however, the sales manager did his job trying to coax as many thousands of dollars as possible onto his side of the equation, over-quoting mileage deduction on my trade by $1000 primarily. We finally arrived at a deal that I found satisfactory ($500 over invoice and a decent price for my 08 MDX trade) despite the expected "I'm sorry but that's the very best we can do. We aren't making any money on this deal" kind of thing. In spite of Reiko's stellar performance, we were of course subjected to the mega-upsell by the finance manager. They now offer extended warranties on virtually every imaginable scenario that you might encounter - some $8000 total if you do the big buy-in. They were surprised that I declined each and every one of them. Despite the fact I interrupted at the outset that we weren't interested in any of it, he insisted that he was "required" to march us through a very lengthy list of issues we assuredly would need additional protection for. So - find Reiko as she does a fantastic job, expect the sales manager to try to take advantage of your naiveté whenever possible and expect the giant closing upsell at the end. It's easy enough to simply decline. There are much better packages available after market outside the dealership.
