Dealership Sales Review
In fairness, this team was very professional and very transparent. Hence, my logic behind giving them 3 out of 5 stars versus something less reasonable. Here's the thing...in an attempt to either tug at my heartstrings or be truly honest, they said their sales are down and in order to keep the employees at the dealership employed, a non-negotiable, mandatory, "northwest package" of $3000 is marked up on every vehicle. It doesn't matter if you special order or not. So everyone is aware, this is not common practice. They were up front...kudos...but when I asked what it consisted of...I don't need overpriced weather mats or LoJack. I can buy better TuxMats for less and a $29 AirTag versus a $795 LoJack that is redundant with Lexus' safety and anti-theft systems. I'm buying a Lexus not a Hyundai. Don't sell me things that the automakers don't think are necessary. It holds no value to me and is a sunk cost on an item that already runs in the tens of thousands of dollars. I expected more from a reputable brand. Maybe that's why the Korean automakers are eating their lunch in sales and marketshare. I am a diehard Lexus fan, but that was the fastest conversation I've had since COVID started. Please stop taking advantage of a loyal fanbase. We deserve better.
