Dealership Sales Review
TL;DR: Walking in and buying a car is great. Getting any financing information, warranty information, or asking ANY questions regarding your purchase is a nightmare. I'd go somewhere else that has better communication. Review: Actually walking in and buying the vehicle was excellent, but God help you if you need ANY help outside of walking in and buying the car. I found a car online that was still being manufactured so I called the dealership and told them I wanted to put a deposit down on it. Went into the dealership, paid the deposit, and left. Great! I made it clear that I needed to sell my current car and shop for insurance prior to actually purchasing my new vehicle. My salesperson told me they would call me when the car was finished being manufactured, and then again when it was about a week out from the dealership. Awesome, plenty of time for me to do everything I need to do. About 6 weeks later I noticed I hadn't heard from the dealership so I decided to call and see if there was any updates. Lo and behold, my car was on the lot and I was asked to come in the next day to pick it up. Well now I had to rush around to get new insurance (I needed the VIN number to actually get insurance, which I didn't have) and sell my car so I could make a down payment. That's a lot to do on a last second notification. In their defense, I probably could have asked to pick up the car later. But where was my call that the car was finished being manufactured? What about my one week notice? If I hadn't called that day, when was I going to be notified? As far as financing goes, I was shopping around to see the best deal I could get whether through the dealership or outside of it. Luckily I had been doing this for a while now. However, I saw on the dealerships website that they had a deal on financing for qualified buyers! I had called the finance department more than 5 times to see if I qualified and they never picked up or called me back. I actually had to talk to my salesperson the day before I picked up my car and asked him to ask them if I qualified. Absolutely terrible experience. The day I went to pick up my car was honestly great and the only reason I'm not giving this a 1 star review. Paperwork was quick, my car was in amazing shape, and I was out the door in under an hour and a half. It doesn't end here, though. I purchased a warranty through the dealership and, after leaving, realized that I had no information on it nor how to use it if I ever needed to! I've been calling their warranty department for weeks and haven't got a call back. I finally called my salesperson and asked him to ask them for me (this seems to be a theme here). They sent me a brochure with general information, but nothing specific to the actual warranty I bought. I emailed them back for some more specific information and haven't heard back. I don't think I ever will. If I'm going to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a car, I'd expect much better communication. It's clear to me that the only thing they cared about was getting me to sign some papers and getting me out the door. A Toyota is a Toyota, if you can get your car from somewhere else, I would recommend it. They tell you to call when you leave a bad review, but they don't pick up the phone so why even bother? Don't buy their warranty, it's through a shady third party agency that even other Toyota dealerships don't recognize. Which I know because my car needed service less than a month after I purchased it brand new. Seriously, do business at any other dealership.
