Glad it was free

I'd somehow managed to get a free remote start with the purchase of my Prius back in 2011 - the installation process (and purchase of the vehicle) was an absolute nightmare. First, the rental vehicle was atrocious. It smelled like someone with horrible B.O. had been driving it before me and no one could even bother to freshen it up before handing me the keys. I was stuck with this smell for 2 days while the remote start was installed. What made this worse was the fact that it was my turn to drive a carpool while I had it, and my fellow co-worker/commuters weren't thrilled with the stench either. How embarrassing! Second, I was originally told I could drop the car off in the morning and be shuttled to/from work while the installation was performed and no appointment was necessary. I get there bright and early the following morning and am told an appointment is required and they never do shuttles for remote-start installs. Well, gee, shouldn't the guy have said that to me when I'd called the first time to *schedule an appointment*? I tell them this and they tell me I can try to wait for a rental to come in to use overnight. So, I wait. And wait. Finally, the stink-mobile arrives and I drive off. The next day I call at lunch time to check and make sure my car will be ready to pick up by the time I'm off work. The guy's response? Car? What car? Thus began my loop of Hell through Koons trying to find someone who could tell me where my car was, who was doing what to it, and when I could pick it up. I was hung up on by a salesman that I already had a grudge against, looped again through several people, dumped again, until I finally got a hold of the name of installer working on my car - who was out on lunch. Go figure. They tell me he'll call back in an hour. At that point, I was ready to go Godzilla on these guys. Surprisingly, the guy did call me back. He told me to show up after work and it might be done. So I did, and it was. I took my keys and haven't been back since. Nor do I plan on returning until it's time to cut ties with my lease. Horrible salesmen experience (that was a whole other can of worms). The service department was just as bad. I regret buying my car from this dealership and all I have to say is I'm glad the remote-start was free with the purchase of the car. Otherwise I may of torn it back out and thrown it through a window. In short, no. Not recommended. I gave 2 stars total. 1 for the fact that it was installed. The other because I'm amazed it works seeing as it was free.
