Dealership Sales Review
The front end sales experience was ok. Then, I had to wait for about 3 hours after the deal was made to get to the business office to finalize the transaction. A detail job for the car I was buying was promised while I waited, but it didn’t happen. The finance manager promised to email copies of the sales contract and related documents to me, but I still have not received said email after repeated requests by me. We traded in a vehicle and brought the title with lien release (car was paid off years before). Both were in the same envelope. The next day I got an email from the sales rep saying that they need the lien release. I told them it was in the same envelope as the title. They lost the lien release, and expect me to produce a copy. I protested, but still contacted the bank who agreed to send me a copy of the release. The dealer is threatening to hold the title on the car I purchased until I produce a lien release, which they lost. I don’t have that lien release yet so this drama continues. Dealer personnel I have dealt with are slow to respond to communication and may or may not return phone calls. This has been a frustrating experience, to say the least. I will not consider purchasing anything from this dealer again. This was a cash transaction, by the way, but I was still subjected to a gauntlet of car dealer BS.
