AutoNation Ford Frisco
Dealership Sales Review
I recently had a horrible experience at AutoNation Ford in Frisco, TX. I negotiated a deal for a Ford Explorer ST, 2020 with 26K miles. I obtained a cashier’s check for the full amount of the contract. I made it clear that I would purchase a plane ticket from El Paso to Dallas and provided proof of the reservation to the sales department. The sales department assured me the vehicle would be reserved and pulled off the lot. I received a text msg from the sales department the following day when I was waiting for my connecting flight from Denver to Dallas. I was informed that the Explorer I was supposed to purchase had been sold by the Houston AutoNation dealership and that they had already picked it up earlier that morning. Jeff Vasquez offered me several options that were completely unacceptable. One was an Explorer with twice as many miles, a similar Explorer located in Washington state, or $10k off a new Explorer with an original sticker price of $61k! This is classic bait and switch. (They did offer to reimburse me for my expenses.) I was left with little option. Either fly back to El Paso without a car or continue to travel to Dallas and attempt to make a deal. I caught my next flight to Dallas and spent 3 hours haggling over the price of a 2023 Explorer ST. End result I ended up with a car payment rather than paying cash for a car I negotiated in good faith for. AutoNation has zero integrity. Jeff Vasquez never greeted me or apologized in person to me. Do not purchase from dealership. This review and complaint will be posted with the BBB and Autotrader, and Edmunds.
