Nice people, but....

onThey were very nice and honest at Rafferty, they spent alot of time with me and answered all of my questions. The problem that I had with Rafferty was their inflexibility and unwillingness to negotiate a fair deal. The first deal that they put together for me was a bit high, as usual for a first deal. The second, and only other deal that they offered me was only a few hundred dollars less than the original deal. They asked 16G for a used Subaru Legacy Wagon, and only came down a few hundred dollars from the list price. The very next day I found the same exact car at another Subaru dealer with 6000 less miles, an alarm, and it was a certified pre-owned vehicle for over $1100 less.

I had a similar experience at Rafferty's. Friendly sales staff, but the dealer is very inflexible on pricing. With all of the car pricing information available on the Internet these days, you'd think a dealer would know better than to quote a "sale" price just a few hundred dollars below MSRP and then stick with it! Adding options, either in a package or individually, is an even bigger headache. Confusing and expensive. They even charge a few hundred dollars extra for door molding - shouldn't this part of the car? Rafferty's must be doing a very steady business with loyal Subaru customers in the area to get away with this approach.
