Dealership Sales Review
I arrived at Jim Glover Chevrolet on the River already knowing exactly what we wanted. Not being immediately accosted by Salespeople, I checked in with the very nice lady at the front desk who got right up and saw who was available to help me. It happened to be the Assistant Manager. After a brief warm and friendly greeting we went straight into his office where I showed him my phone with the vehicle we were interested in displayed from their website that had their price for it as well. Without skipping a beat, he got on his computer and checked on availability and confirmed that it was still up for grabs and at the price shown, subject to other possible discounts. Their website showed me that it was "In Transit" and that was also confirmed when he looked up the location of the vehicle and showed me on the map that it was marking time in Lansing, Michigan. I was then handed over to a friendly and knowledgeable salesman who let us test drive a very similar vehicle. He answered all our questions and let us know what features our vehicle would have. The test drive and consultations confirmed that we wished to proceed with the purchase. Paperwork was drawn up with the adjusted sales price which was agreed to and signed. After some friendly and off-topic conversation that almost made saying goodbye seem sad, we were shown to (not herded to) the Finance Department where the equally friendly and accomodating gentleman guided us through the financial side of this visit. When the official documents were agreed to and signed, we were given copies of all we wanted that were properly folded in order and placed in a Company envelope for our convenience. We were kindly shown (not rushed) back to the main lobby where we were able to say farewell to the previous people that had helped us along the way. The goodbye seemed just as warm and genuine as the initial hello did... and that was AFTER the deal was done. My wife and I were treated with courtesy and respect the entire time, which we did our best to reciprocate to that level in return. Not once were we shown, offered or prodded into buying something we did not want...! Aside from the friendliness of the staff, everything was handled efficiently and in a most professional manner. Their facility is clean, spacious and comfortable... with the overall appearance of being very organized. We were treated like people, not cattle. It was apparent they wanted our business but without the phony platitudes stating such. Very professional. We felt like we did a transaction on the purchase of an automobile... not buying a bottle of Snake Oil from a traveling salesman. Our Jim Glover on the River experience left us in good spirits and feeling confident that a price suitable to both parties was achieved.
