Brought in my vehicle because my SRS light was on. They told me they would have to replace the entire computer ($700). Twice I asked if they reset the light to validate the computer needed to be replace and they said they had. I took my vehicle to an independent 30 minutes later to verify what they were saying is true and he immidiately told me that SRS lights can come on as a result of low voltage (i.e. dead battery / bad alternator). I did have bad battery months ago and stupidly didn't make the connection. He reset the light and 8 days (and 600 miles) later no light. When I go to the manuacturer I expect the best service at a slight premium. What I don't expect is to be lied to or pushed to replace parts that may not need replacing. The right approach would have been charging me for the diagnostic, resetting the light and sending me on my way to return if and only if the light comes back on. When I confronted the service manager he had no interest in my case. I'm probably not the type of customer they want anyway as there are enough people that out there that don't question these scum bag tactics.
