Honda of Staten Island
Dealership Sales Review
I purchased a Honda Pilot- I had a written quote which included the navigational system. The salesman didn't have the color I ordered. He also tried to get me to sign off on the vehicle when I realized I didn't have the navigational system. He then told me that I didn't ask for it. I told him I did and showed him the written quote which included the naviagational system (which was an additional $1,000.00) then he told me they didn't have any in stock. I asked him why he called me at home then to tell me the vehicle was in? You don't have the color I wanted, now your telling me I didn't order the navigational system? I was ready to walk out. Then a manager runs out- offers me a demo- which had chrome sides, and trim - it had $4,000 miles on it. They told me they would send a years worth of free oil change coupons for my trouble. They also had all these hidden fees. They told me that the interest rate would be 5.99 when they handed me the paper work tit stated 6.4% I made a stink. The whole experience of purchasing a car was so emotional draining. I was so fed up, aggravated, I am sure my blood pressure was high by the time I left. I was there for 9 hours that day. It shouldn't take that long. Especially since I had been there previously and told them what I wanted. They called me up to tell me the car was in. Then the haggling began. I can't tell you how many managers came out and talked to me. They are all so dishonest. You have to be very careful. I will never purchase a Honda from them again. I recently purchase a Honda Civic for my daughter. I went to Pennsylvania not only was it a lot cheaper. The sales people were so nice and straightforward. The whole purchase took 1-1/2 hours and I walked out with a better deal than I expected! Since then I am discouraging everyone and anyone I can from going to [another dealership].
