Joe Basil Collision & Body Shop

I am highly dissatisfied with Joe Basil Collision & Body Shop. I am not sure if there is enough space in this section to explain the complete dissatisfaction with this Joe Basil Depe Department from the first time I had to go there. Let me preface that the only reason I had to go there is for an appraisal because NY Central Mutual Insurance company uses them as a certified appraiser. My car was hit my a client of NYCM and I had to get it fixed by going to their appraiser. 1) After getting my car appraised and receiving an estimate from Joe Basil, I was “forced” into getting my car fixed from there as a back deal between NYCM and Joe Basil had been made to somehow decide for me that I had to get it fixed there. After questioning NYCM it was discovered that Joe Basil was the one who told NYCM that I had chosen them to do the work there and this their payment was sent and I was told it was done. My first mistake was to just let this happen and go with it. 2) After receiving a solid estimate in the approx dollar amount of $1980+ I later received correspondence from NYCM that the payment made to Joe Basil was competed and was considerably less than was on my estimate!? I then read an attached page that showed a NEW and completely different estimate done by Joe Basil without my knowing and without me being there. Yes a new estimate. I was very surprised and made calls to find out what was missing and why was there was new estimate done. This was a complete BAIT AND SWITCH. 3) after being promised a rental car I showed up and was turned away when I came there to drop off car the first day. I was told to come back 3 days later. 3 days later I came to drop off car again and again rental was a concern but they finally decided to give me one. Again a problem 4) The rearend fender bender was told to me that it was a 3-4 day job. but after 2 1/2 weeks later the job was not finished. 5) Their lack of communication with me the consumer was unbelievable. I had to keep calling to find out the status of my car and inquire why it was taking so long. I received different stories each time I called. To make matters worse Joe Basil was finfer pointing with a vendor about a part that was supposedly shipped and not shipped and in the meantime I sat and was without my car while the squabbled. 6) After I just picked up my car and driobebit home there is now sounds and issues with the steering and clanging in areas of the car where they had no business being as the fix was back left driver side. They seem to have damaged or caused something else with my car to go wrong and it is extremely frustrating. I have called NYCM to report Joe Basil. 7) From the time I dropped the car off and when I picked it up Joe Basil seems to have driven the car 30 miles for some reason. My gas tank was lowered over a 11/2 gallons as I noted it when I dropped it off. 30 miles for a road test? And for collision work? I am very angry and highly advise not taking any work to Joe Basil as they are not reputable

I am happy to report that after Managerial intervention, Manager Craig Kolby took the time to speak with me and addressed all my concerns and listened to all the problmes that have occured to me as it pertained to my visit with Joe Basil. I was very pleased with his approach and the time he took to actually listen to all the things that happened and look into the matter. His acknowledgement that things were not handled up to his and the dealership's standards goes a long way to making me feel better. And much more important I may never find out what happened to my car but Craig Kobly has guaranteed me he will make it right and is taking care of fixing the situation and the damage hat I found with the car when I picked it up. I am very satisfied at this point and I wanted to update my comments to reflect such Keith B
