Lexus of Route 10
Dealership Sales Review
I purchased 2 Lexus vehicles since 2013, prior to that did german, british segments but the cars had to many issues thought I'd give lexus a try so far so good. Recently I went into route 10 based on email conversations with the internet sales team, Mr Sherif contacted me and wanted to get me in to see a 2012 gx460 for 42000K, he said there were a lot of interested buyers and that we had to react fast, I decided to go into the dealership on my way home to check the vehicle out. Upon meeting the sales rep, I believe he was only interested in making the deal, right away we jumped into pricing and items regarding a potential trade, I told him that I never drove a big lexus suv and commute over an hour into the city, he brings the vehicle over to test drive, I asked how the dvd system works he said the tech would show me that after purchase... I said ok in my head but knew this was going an interesting experience, he took me around the block literally less then 4-5 minutes and directed me back to the dealership. I had mentioned my commute time and being on the highway but it was never offered to get up to speed and actually test the vehicle for commuting conditions, we get back and ask for my vin an insurance and does a quick inspection of my vehicle, he offers a price and says the 42000k is non negotiable, i told him it was too low of trade in offer and I would have to decline, he went back and forth to the service manager at least 3 times finally coming back to an additionally $1000, I declined again and appreciated everyones time. A few days pass and I notice the car had a price drop to 38990, i thought I'd check with Mr. Sherif but was wondering why he didn't reach out first with the price drop, I said I was interested and if my trade offer was still good, he said yes but started at the original offer... I assumed this had to do with the price drop but I said I don't see why we have to go there since I was offered more during negotiations, he bluntly said that was never offered, offended I asked for clarification and he said he never offered that, over $1000 I wondered why he wouldn't just correlate it to the price drop... makes sense right.... he continues and i decide to let him know my concerns with his actions and notify Mr. Mike Bibo who seems to be a manager of the used car division privately through bcc option in email, I let him know my concerns about this treatment and surprisingly he pushes the deal saying there is a lot of activity again on the vehicle, I agreed it was a good deal but that is not all a customer is seeking and that I was really offended by his sales team member, he ignores the email and said to call Mr. Sherif if I wanted to put a deposit. I explained that I was upset and would like to discuss in person and he drops the owners name in a email and said I could see him. Surprised I decided to just wait until I go in and discuss with other associates, overall my previous experience has been excellent, 5 star so I wanted to make sure that if I seen an issue from a place I plan to buy cars again that they maintain the reputation because that can quickly diminish, Mr Bibo did the exact opposite of what we expect from anyone buying in this luxury segment, Mr Sherif used old sales tactics to try to close a deal instead of create a buying experience that makes a customer want to return. I hope route 10 can use this example and future customers can avoid these two men to seek a better experience. I assume service is less then ideal in the used car segment sometimes, but I buy cars vs lease or use an expense right off and prefer to let the first year or so depreciation to give real world pricing... I'm in the market for an italian but the way they treated made me realize that although they picked up maserati they have not picked up the hospitality seen say in south beach in the same market segment... a few bad apples can spoil the bunch, route 10 keep up your transition and ensure your sales team dont slip.
