Dealership Sales Review

2 out of 5 starssales Rating
Typical dirty sales tactics

I made my initial contact with Desert VW (DVW) through Edmonds.com as DVW was a "preferred dealer." This was the second time I purchased a vehicle this way (first time was with Desert Toyota which was an AWESOME experience!). I expected the same or similar experience because 1) DVW is/was a preferred dealer and 2) it was in the Desert Autogroup family. Nope, not even close. The only contact I had with the internet sales guy was when he passed me off to another salesman. I found a car that matched my online build, test drove it and began the buying process. They ran credit, background, etc, then gave me the sale paperwork. Much to my surprise, the price was WAY higher than originally agreed. The pricing got fixed after some time, but I had to leave. Since we already started the buying process, we agreed that I would return first thing the next morning. When I returned, they sold the car that I already was in the process of buying. I made my stink about how dirty it was and started to leave. I was chased down by a sale "manager" who promiced to make "everything right." I found another car and was high-balled on the price. I caused a scene about how dirty they were and some guy who called himself the "general manager" came over and tried to quiet me down. After two days and many hours, I left with the vehicle, was told everything was approved and I was on my way. Two weeks later, I get a call saying the financing didn't go through. TWO WEEKS LATER! I had to go through the whole finance process again. Fortunately, there was no change in the price. This was my third vehicle that I bought by contacting the internet sales manager and this was BY FAR, below the acceptable level of customer service that it advertised. I certainly don't feel that I needed to fight for the car and price that I originally started to buy.
