Dealership Sales Review
I came in with the intention of buying two cars last evening and left very disappointed. Reason: I pre-contacted you internet sales dept via e-mail regarding the purchase of a Jetta and a Passat and my financing was pre-approved through my bank. All I had to do was negoitiate the price(based on their so called "internet Special") and pick up the vehicles, so I thought. Well after arriving, meeting the salesman and testdriving the first vehicle, we discussed the pice. What a gap (Over $4000.00) from the so call "Internet Special" which the sales department and the other staff members working that night knew nothing about (So they say), until I take them to their own website and show them. "Wow", they said, "That's a great deal" and "I knew nothing about this special" then came the "Well I'm sorry but I can't give you that price without talking to someone in particular and they're not here". (I thought, Well use your phone and call him) Next, one of his co-workers stated that price is impossible and that "Brian will get you the best deal possible" (Great teamwork but, still a $4000.00 gap). What a waste of my time (over 2 hours). Recommendation: If your sales department is really that clueless about exsisting specials, Maybe you should have meetings to keep them in the loop. But,if it was just a marketing ploy (false advertising) to get prospective buyers into your dealership, you should realize consumers really aren't that stupid and rely heavily on integrity these days. So you might want to change your technique.
