Difficult to Diagnose

onShifter was hanging up on my 2018 AMG C43. A couple of restarts would free it and cycle out the Check Engine light, making trouble code retrieval difficult. The service department figured it out and replaced the steering control module, and so far the problem has not recurred. I admit to being disappointed that a life-of-the-vehicle part would fail at 8,500 miles and just out of warranty, but that's not the dealer's fault. My experience in over 10 years with both this dealer's sales and service departments has always been positive.
