Cap too tight???

onCame in for oil change. Service tech said the cap was too tight and they didn’t want to risk it breaking off. Their attitude felt like they hadn’t tried - felt dismissive. Left without having the oil change done (although they did reset the “oil life” setting on my car - ugh! Why did they do this without performing the oil change??). Told my neighbor, who is a mechanic, about this. He opened the hood and was able to get the cap off with very little problems.
