Dealership Sales Review
My wife and I were helped by Dan Mulhany, Internet manager at Ed Napleton Kia in Elmhurst, IL. Dan was very patient with us as we test drove numerous cars in the lot and took our time. Dan was easy going and overall provided and enjoyable environment for my wife and I. I didn't appreciate the fact that we couldn't get an idea of the price until we committed to wanting the car. Maybe this is a typical process that dealerships run their customers through, but we just wanted a fair price. Long story short, we decided on the car and were proposed with a price that was unrealistic. Even with having a contact within the company, they stilll gave us a super high price. I haven't been through this process much, so I can't speak comparatively to other dealers, but it kind of bummed me out. Thankfully we were prepared to negotiate. I will say, we walked out the door with a fair price and felt very good about our purchase, which is what is most important. Management even threw in an additional warrantee for us, which was generous. After the purchase the multiple managers we spoke with were friendly and treated us well. Overall not a bad experience, and most importantly we were happy with the price, but felt slightly misled (we were told by our contact that we wouldn't have to negotiate), which leads to the 3 stars. We liked Dan and want him to do well, but make sure you are prepared to negotiate.
