April 16, 2019 SALES VISIT - USED "Sold Car " - MichaelM As an avid car enthusiast, I purchase and trade many higher end cars as my wife can attest to (humor). I trade frequently and have never been so disappointed over a sales transaction as I am with Rick Hendrick Buick GMC Duluth. This dealer had a car for sale that I wanted to purchase, a higher end car ZL1 but I live approximately 2 hours away. I spoke to the sales manager on Friday and a Sales Assistant on Saturday. My next day off was Wednesday and let them know that I was definitely interested in purchasing the car. I even offered to leave a deposit on the vehicle. I was told they do not take deposits, but not to worry as I would be there Wednesday. I said thank you and thought all was good. On Tuesday, the day before I was going to make the drive and purchase the car, I get a text from the salesperson letting me know that they had sold the car. This is extremely disappointing and a complete lack of trust I put into a dealership. When speaking to the Sales Manager on Tuesday, I was told that "A sale is a sale". I guess that slimy car salesman way of thinking still applies to Hendrick Car Dealerships. Next, the dealership is going to post a canned response to contact them. I have been in contact with them and it was the Manager who forced the salesman holding the car for me to sell it out from under me. Nobody at the dealership cares because the sales disfunction is at the top.
