Dealership Sales Review

Don't go before closing time is my tip
Written by gtboosted on 03/14/2018

Drove down all the way from Van Nuys and arrived at 8:05pm last night(Monday). Keep in mind this was after checking with the salesman if this is ok. Was assured it was. Once I got there all the lights up front were off including the logos and all that. Anyway went inside and started talking. I made sure to let them know that with my Transunion score and Equifax score I would qualify for tier 1 rates. I told them for some reason my Experian is lower and I will not qualify. The manager said they only use experian. Although frustrated I was glad he let me know so I wouldn't run my credit. I did not want to take a hit if I was not going to qualify for tier 1. Today I asked 3 people what GM financial uses. Guess what, all three said Transunion. One being a Chevy salesperson. The other a finance guy at another GMC dealer. Last person was one that bought his car at Simpson a few days ago for the exact deal I was looking for!! So I am not sure why I was provided false info. You would think they would want to make a sale. Maybe they wanted to go home early? Maybe the manager didn't know? But why would he tell me that before checking to be positive. If I am proven that GM financial only uses Experian I will update the review but as of now it seems they just turned me away to go home early.

Sorry you might be confusing me for someone else. I did not offer a single dollar less. You can talk to Josh Gamez my salesman or Barry Paige his manager. I was ready to buy at the advertised price. I even told Josh I don't need to test drive and that I knew what color I wanted. There was 0 negotiation on my end. Funny how the dealer response mentions me asking for a bigger discount to dodge my actual review complaint. Why would I drive that far and try and negotiate on a Monday night? It's true that the advertised price was good and that's why I drove down there. I really hope the response has me confused with some one else. Otherwise they are just making things up. Either way my review still stands.

Dealer Response
We appreciate you giving us an opportunity to earn your business. You came down to inquire about an advertised 2018 Terrain that was already heavily discounted and you asked for an even larger discount. We graciously declined your offer. We have always prided ourselves on offering fantastic deals to our customers. That being said, we still have a business to run, employees to pay and so forth. We would be more than happy to honor the already fantastic price (which is why you drove down from Van Nuys) on the Terrain. You can come at any time, as our team is very much accustomed to working late nights, most nights well past 11pm. Best, Ali Ahmed – General Sales Manager –aahmed@simpsongm.com
