Lexus of Tucson on Speedway
Dealership Sales Review
Do not buy an EV (or any vehicle for that matter) from this dealership. I purchased a used electric vehicle from this dealership last year. Throughout the buying process, the entire sales team was arrogant and belittled my concerns that they did not understand the IRS time of sale reporting requirements for EVs. They kept telling me to ask my CPA about it when it is the DEALERSHIP’S responsibility to report the sale to the IRS within three days via the IRS Energy Credits Online portal. Instead of doing this, they hand-filled out an IRS form 15400 and gave it to me at the time of the sale. Because of their ignorance and ineptitude, I am now stuck with a $4000 tax bill instead of a $4000 credit for which I am eligible (minus the fact Lexus of Tucson never reported the sale). I filed my 2024 taxes and, surprise, the IRS rejected my tax return because the used EV sale was never reported to the IRS. I will be exploring my options on how to rectify this egregious error. They also tout their “Forever Warranty” but could not tell me what maintenance is required for an EV to remain eligible. Total sales gimmick. Save your time and money and make the drive to Phoenix to purchase a vehicle – there are much better dealerships there. Update February 2025: Bought a used EV from this dealership. Had an issue with the tax credit being applied to my tax return, but management fixed the mistake promptly. Hope to do business with them in the future.
