Camelback Toyota
Dealership Sales Review
Camelback Toyota advertised a deal on TrueCar; I inquired on 12/20/24. A salesman said the car was sold two days earlier. The salesman said TrueCar is a third party site that stole the info from Camelback Toyota, so Camelback is not responsible for advertising a vehicle that doesn't exist. In fact, rueCar enters into a "partnership" with dealerships. TrueCar receives vehicle and purchase offer information from dealerships, including the vehicle identification number and condition. TrueCar states on its web site: "We partnered with a national network of more than 13,000 dealers (representing about 35% of all franchised dealers) who share the belief that truth, transparency and fairness are the foundation of a great car buying experience." It's not a fun experience when a car dealership engaged in a classic bait and switch. It appears to violate Arizona's Consumer Protection Act.
