AutoNation Honda Chandler
Dealership Service Review
Greeted promptly at express service for a simple oil change. From there it took way too long! Service was finished in about 30 minutes and vehicle moved to service drive where it sat for more than 20 minutes until I asked about it. Only then did they get my paperwork together. So much for "Express Service". Oil change was done without issue. Service advisor threw in a tire rotation free of charge... only problem was the tires were less than a week old and a rotation wasn't needed. He didn't bother to ask or advise me on this. As well my tires are nitrogen filled and I witnessed the technician add air to them with out caring. Once I had the paperwork, service advisor simply stated "everything was fine on the car" and did not review the technicians check list with me. I asked specifically about the brakes to which he replied they "looked good". Front and rear pad measurements shown on the technicians check list were at 8mm on all 4 wheels. Funny but at last service at the AutoNation dealer in Colorado, some 7,000 miles earlier, they listed them at 5mm on the front and 3mm on the rear. In fact, the 8mm measurement at this service was more than was measured when the car was serviced at 27k...this service was at 64k. I was totally unaware that brake pads improved and grew over time!!! Guess I have that special vehicle that will never require a brake job!!! Also listed was that they recommended transmission, brake fluid and coolant service as there was no evidence of these services being performed...to the tune of $775, and again the service advisor never even mentioned this. Funny but these services were performed, again by the AutoNation dealer in Colorado at 50K. Sounds to me that they were looking for the opportunity to up-sell services that had already been done. This I find unethical and unacceptable. Previous experience in dealing with different Honda dealers performing service was that they had visibility to services performed based on the VIN. Guess this dealer does have access to Honda's data base or again, was trying to up-sell. Because of all this I will likely not return to this dealer for future service.
