We had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with AutoNation Honda in Chandler, AZ. On June 23, we test drove a 2017 Ford Explorer and identified several issues that needed to be addressed before we would consider placing a deposit. When we returned on June 24, we were told the vehicle was undergoing service for a faulty seat belt and other problems, making it unsellable at that time. We made it clear we wanted to be notified once the necessary repairs were complete.
On June 26, a manager called to thank us for our patience and assured us we would be contacted as soon as the vehicle was sellable, stating they were still waiting on parts. That was the last communication we received.
Then, on Sunday, June 29, we were shocked to receive a notification from CarGurus that the vehicle had been sold—without any prior notification from our salesperson (Victor) or the manager. When we called on Monday, June 30 to find out what happened, we were told the vehicle was sold on Saturday, June 28.
This dealership clearly lied to us and wasted our time. We were led to believe the car was being held until repairs were completed, only to find out it was sold out from under us with no courtesy call or update. It’s incredibly unprofessional and feels deliberately deceptive.
We will never do business with AutoNation Honda in Chandler again and strongly caution others to think twice before trusting this dealership or its sales team. Their practices are shady, and they clearly have no regard for integrity or customer service.
