EV Buyers: Don't let them steal your Tax Credit!

If you are buying an EV from this dealership, BEWARE: they will steal your rebate, and you won't find out until you file your taxes because they won't give you any paperwork on it and will disguise it as "Autonation Savings." If you don't qualify or you don't usually pay at least $7500 in federal taxes, you will have to pay it back, and the dealer gets to keep YOUR money. Make sure you educate yourself BEFORE you go in to this dealership because they are counting on you not knowing their responsibilities or your rights. Go on the IRS website, (IRS dot gov) and research the Clean Vehicle Credit. Pay special attention to the buyer qualifications and the dealer responsibilities. Please don't make the same mistake we did. For the record, we LOVE our new Equinox EV, 10/10 would recommend, just not the shenanigans this dealer pulled, 0/10 would not recommend.

I've already been in contact with the GM. He doesn't take any responsibility, nor does he care to learn. One thing I didn't put in my original review was how we were treated by Tristan in finance. He tried to sell us the service contract, and because angry and sulky when we said no. We had to decline three times before he would move on, and then he threw papers at my husband and banged things around his desk aggressively. Very scary and wildly unprofessional behavior. The GM never even responded when I reported this to him. So, no. I don't think the GM would love to talk to me, and I know for a fact that he doesn't want to rectify the situation, other than offering to take the vehicle back. I don't think he read through my original review because I love my new vehicle. I'm just trying to warn others to educate themselves first.
