2018 Buick LaCrosse Essence 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric mild hybrid 6A)
Update 11/29/2024 151k now, car still running great, still getting 35-38 mpg on commute and everything still works
Update 4/26/2024 135K now, car still running great, still getting 35-38mpg on my commute.
Update 9/24/2023 car has 120k now, just purchased 2nd set of new tires, Continental Pro Contact LS. These are great tires for this car.
Also had to replace the Front CV Half Shafts. … I commute everyday 120 miled round trip. I could have probably waited longer, but was tired of the clacking noise in front end. Still love the car, all features work, leather seats are in great condition, fully anticipate another 100k. Battery still holds a charge, i can average upto 38mpg on my commute. Paint has held up surprisingly as well.
Update 3/29/2023 On the way to work this AM and Check Engine light illuminated and car went into limp mode. Appears the accelerator position sensor went bad, this is a known issue and was fixed under warranty even though car has 100K+ in miles. Still very happy.
Update 2/8/23: I have about a 110k on this car now. Recently had major service done at 90k, car is now running a little warm compared to before service. I've ordered a new thermostat and that has taken about a week to receive. Water pump is special order from Michigan. So realize going into this with the E-Assist 2.5 parts will take longer. Other than these issues still very happy with car. Update 3/5/2021: I'm at 55k now, mpg is still great, total mpg average for last 42k miles is 35.7. Only issue to date since last issue is right rear tire sensor is stuck at 28PSI so it throws the check tire message on dash. I'll be getting new tires soon and will purchase a new sensor. No other issues with car, driver seat leather is still holding up very well and i condition about 2 or 3 times a year, paint in much better shape than my last honda at same mileage. still very happy with car and don't understand why this particular E-Assist engine combo is not used in other Buicks.
Update 1/5/2020: I'm up to 23k now and after the shorting wire harness issue was resolved i'm a much happier LaCrosse Driver now. Car consistently gets 38-40 mpg on my commute to work. I sometimes start to feel this car getting a little noisy, but then i drive a Honda or Toyota and realize once again how quiet this car is. I will continue to update as i plan on putting 200k or more on this car over the next few years.
Just recently purchased my 2018 Buick Lacrosse with 6k miles. Issue # 1 is the USB ports do not work nor does the Wireless Charger. Issued # 2, my car has recently developed a very loud very annoying whining sound coming from the Engine / Transmission. This reminds me of previous day fords when the power steering fluid gets low. Off to dealer tomorrow. Very very disappointed as of this writing as i purchased the car to get to and from work not the dealership for repairs.
