I had the same question and the only answer I can get is that the AUX button is "inoperable" and does nothing. I'm also wondering what MP3 compatible means; there are no specific directions that I can find concerning this feature either. Sorry. :(

I think they are moving upmarket from where they were in 2006. The Zephyr and MKZ started out on the really low end but the '10 models have more standard equipment and have many improvements - along with higher prices. The MKS started at around $38,000 MSRP but a '10 Ecoboost model starts at $48,000 and easily tops $55,000. They have made the technology package and paddle shifters standard on all ... Read More

Replacing mirror - discount parts site?
My right hand side mirror on my 2006 Lincoln Zephyr collided with an immobile object :) albeit at a very low speed. The plastic mirror assembly has sheared off - the motor, glass and chrome pieces are intact. I wonder if I can replace as a DIY project - how easy it it to remove the door panel? Overall, quite satisfied with the car, but two issues have been bugging me. a) MPG: On my first tankful I have only averaged 19.7 mpg per the readout on the dash. Yeah the blue pearl color looking Zephyr is really nice but I can find a color online? Do you know where I can a find of the blue/purple lookng Zephyr? But yeah I see to many Toyotas on the road, and only a few Zephyrs. But I'll pray about it. Thanks and God Bless.

2007 MKZ Ride Quality
I currently own a 2006 Zephyr. I'm very pleased with the car (a sleeker body would be nice). The 2007 has my interest. More powerful and refined engine, better fuel economy, and if you drive 500 miles a week to and from work like I do, the larger gas tank is quite helpful. Also, I regret not getting the cooled seats. The Avalon is much roomier, has more equipment (and options) for the price, gets better mileage, and will have better re-sale value. The Zephyr wasn't an afterthought. But the 2006 model was definitely a rush job based on the demise of the LS. That is evidenced by the 2007 MKZ which is how the car was planned all along. I'd get the MTZ. The Avalon is an awfully good vehicle, and has more toys than the Lincoln, but it is even more an old guys' car than the MTZ...and it is a bit bigger than I like.

I'd recommend Sunnyvale Linc/Merc for service. Ask for Robert. They've treated me far better than my selling dealer did.

If my particular dealer is typical, there is NO way that Lincoln will ever be the "Lexus" to Ford's "Toyota". My purchasing experience was 180 degrees from yours. My dealership was superb, both at initial time of purchase and during the 12,000 mile free service. I'd rate the dealer one of the best w/ whom I've dealt, and I've dealt w/ Honda, Volkswagon, and Volvo dealers.

Every brand has bad dealers, including Lincoln. But overall Lincoln ranks first in dealer satisfaction. Try another dealer next time. The fact that you bought an advertised special might have something to do with it (although it shouldn't). It definitely comes with a leather or vinyl zipped holder for the owner's manual and other documents. Sounds like they lost it (or gave it to someone else). I walked in late on Memorial Day and their Memorial Day ad special had not sold. I think I got a pretty good deal, but the pre- and post-purchase experience left a lot to be desired. My guess is they'll move Zephyr production to wherever they're making the MkX and Edge freeing up more production for Fusions/Milans and allowing more MkZ production. Just look at your local ads--if your dealers are advertising the Zephyr locally. Without dickering, the price is routinely $3,000 lower than sticker. They pushed like heck to get the numbers up in March, and they did. Still. all that effort and we are only talking about 7,000 in sales since the first of the year. Based on Lincoln's experience with the rain sensing wipers in the LS (it had them from 2000 until halfway in either the 2003 or 2004 model year) I wouldn't expect to see them back anytime soon. Zephyr-Milan-Fusion triplets
The main problem with the Zephyr, as it is currently configured, is that it is only a differently trimmed Fusion. The Fusion is a good car, but Lincoln charges many thousands more for a Fusion/Milan with some upgraded interior trim. The 2006 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln Zephyr mid-sized car models began shipping from an assembly plant in Hermosillo, Mexico, this week, according to Steve Lyons a Ford VP. They should start trickling into dealer showrooms in the next week or two.

The Lincoln dealer cabal would sooner be shot than have to deal with a car with a manual transmission. They'll point to the short-lived LS manual experiment, during which a tiny fraction (<2%) were delivered as manuals. Well this should livin up the board just a little bit. I think the Lincoln Zephyr is a sharp looking sedan and it should do well for Lincoln. The Zephyr isn't hardly perfect, I dunno why in the world Lincoln has this love affair with Auto trannies but if they made a manual 5 or 6 speed available with the Zephyr it would make it a pretty sporty package. Squeezed footwells won't be avoided in this car, check out the following, click to increase the photo size and you will see the angle on the left reduces foot space. While this is a photo of the original concept interior I don't think this part changed. First let me say I really like this car, but in regards to your question re-legroom in the photo below it shows what I percieve to be a handicap to the left foot of drivers as the sidewall angles in and reduces foot space.
