I was thinking of upgrading from an extremely reliable 2001 Cherokee (not grand) sport 4x4 with 141,000 miles on her to a 2002 Disco II with 99,000 on it from a Land Rover dealer for an asking price $5,500. The Land Rover is a beautiful looking vehicle in great shape. I couldn't believe I could get this gorgeous $50,000 vehicle at such a reasonalbe price after only 8 years of service. ... Read More

I got a P2539 code on my 2001 Disco II today. My regular mechanic said I have a coolant leak that they don't have the equipment to get to, but suggested that I watch the level and add coolant when necessary since it's a small leak. He didn't know how much the dealer would charge to fix it. When I put the P2539 code into RepairSolutions database, it took me to ... Read More

I have a question about 2001 Land Rover Discovery II SE. I just experienced ABS and TC lights that went on. I was driving and the 3 dings went on and the 2 lights stayed on. I got to my destination and shut the car off. I let the car sit for 6 hours. Restarted the vehicle and turned my steering wheel hard to get out of a parking space. Since ... Read More

I have a 2001 Disco II with 77,000. My ABS, HDC and TC lights all went on at the same time. Dealer says the ECU SLABS unit is defective and needs to be replaced. I keep seeing so-called recalls on this problem, but when I called Land Rover North America, they said no such recall exist. To fix the problem, you are looking at replacing the ECU SLABS, speed sensors, hubs, ... Read More

On my 2001 Discovery II SE7 the left horn button popped up and when I took it off the tip of one of the 4 prongs was broken. Then a week or so later my right horn button popped off completely and I've never been able to find it. I contacted British Pacific, but they want $91.00 for the horn assembly. Does anyone know of a source for just the buttons, ... Read More

I am wondering if anyone can give me some meaningful advise. I have a wonderful 2001 Disco II (ace) with about 46k miles. So far it has been relatively trouble free except for a leaky gasket that was fixed last month under warranty. Overall the truck has been great and has been trouble free with some minor problems but nothing major. It drives like new. I have driven the new LR3 ... Read More

I purchased 3 dealer add-ons - California burlwood trim kit, cd player, and brush guard with lights. We're not ones to buy a vehicle, get tired of it and resell - our current cars all have over 100K miles on them. So how long can we expect ... Read More
