I have a 1995 Ford F-250 7.3L powerstroke, 2wd, automatic transmission. After an hour of driving, when downshifting and upshifting it shifts hard and then it lugs the motor down when coming to a stop, I just had the transmission rebuilt, and a new torque converter put on, i had trouble before the transmission was rebuilt and the same thing happens after i had the transmission rebuilt.

Ford F-Series Braking Questions

  • F-250 diesel intermittent brake problems

Written by: thekraut on Sep 28, 2010 6:43:16 AM

1995 Ford F250 diesel has brake problem, sometimes brakes work OK, sometimes the pedal is hard as a rock and goes all the way to the floor before brakes work, sometimes a slight delay and then brakes work. Very scary not knowing what will happen when I touch brake pedal. 2 mechs recommend replacing brake booster, vacuum pump, and master cylinder, (not in that order). Very expensive to start changing these. ... Read More

I have a 1995 Ford F250 with a 7.3L. Had to replace a push rod in number one cylinder. Now I can't get it to start. Is there any way the trouble shoot the sensors in the system. It is acting like there is no fuel getting to the cylinders. I know there is fuel in the lines I have found a few leaks.

I'm looking at a 1995 Ford F250 Styleside XL H/D SuperCab 4x4, with the 460v8. It has 114,000 miles and they're asking $5,800. Is this a good deal? It looks to be right a blue-book, but what kind of problems can I expect to find on this truck with this many miles? Any other user experiences with a similar truck? Thanks!
