I just bought a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus from this white woman and it wasn't running because it needed a distributor. The owner pryor to that was an old woman who drove it very little and was the first owner. The car had around 86,000 miles when the second owner got it and when I bought it from them it had over 111,000 miles but they had all the maintenance recipts. Besides ... Read More

First the basics, when was the last time you changed the fuel filter? How about Spark plug wires and plugs? Which engine are you talking about? If the fuel filter, etc; is OK, then I would look at the cam sensor as that sensor is most likely at fault given the problem you describe. Generally, the sensor plays a larger role at 2000+ RPM. You don't say which engine, so I ... Read More

Have you been able to get any more answers to your car problem. I have a 95 as well and I've recently ran into similar problems. My car will start, but up until 40 mph it's been choking like it's going to stall out on me. I've had three different mechanics look at it and since the diagnostic tests aren't returning any codes, they don't know what to do. IF ANYONE ... Read More

Sorry to hear you are having some problems with this vehicle, unfortunately that very common. The EGR can be tested its a shame they replaced it. the cirrus is overloaded with technology the car is basically one big circuit board requiring a lot of juice to keep its functioning correctly many times the ground is the problem a bad ground can chorus the computer ECM - PCM to malfunction decreasing the ... We spent thousands of dollars on this car and it drove like a dream up until the morning it just quit running at 3 am while my husband was coming home from work. At 3 am I had to get out of ... i have a 1995 chrysler cirrus and it started stalling at the beginning of spring. it stalls at stop lights, sometimes going under 25mph, and while warming up in my driveway. we took it to the dealers, and they had said that it was the main computer, so we got that fixed. right when we were leaving it stalled, so we brought it back in, they said it was the EGR ... My 95 Cirrus engine dies either while driving or in park, no warning just shuts down. Sometimes it will start right back up, other times could take a day. I have also had the car shift into 1st gear while driving, cannot shift out unless I turn off and restart. Replaced fuel filter, pump and distributor and did not help. Any suggestions - PLEASE!!!

Have had relatively few problems until several weeks ago when the car would almost stall at stop lights. Putting it in neutal would help. But while driving 65 MPH on the interstate, the car jumped forward without warning. Took it to the repair shop and had the distributor replaced for nearly $900 including labor. Car is still exhibiting the same tendencies...RPM's will jump even with foot off the pedal. Any ideas ... Read More

My car is a 1995 Cirrus. I just recently had to replace my trans replaced and the rear. My tranny Guy said this has been a problem for Chrysler, but there is no recall. The problem is, that when the retaining pin in the carrier snaps and the pin that holds the spider gears together falls out and boom like my rear. The problem was corrected years later he told me. ... Read More

I had a Cirrus the first year it was made- 1995, LXi- with the V6. The first time I test drove the vehicle I knew I needed to have it. The suspension was firm, the handling tight, the V6 had adequate power to pull strongly through the gears, the Infinity Sound system was decent. The first day out of the dealership, I took the car to my uncle's home, he warned ... Read More
