thanks a bunch. I did surmize it was passenger side behind the cat, so replaced it., cleared the codes and the light came back on and has been on ever since. I thought the light was malfunctioning or something. Guess I replaced the wrong one. By chance do you know what could be the problem if my airbag light comes on intermittently on this vehical?
That code is for the oxy sensor on the driver side behind the cat. I found mine rubbed through and bare wires were touching the chassis. Replaced it with another sensor and no more code. If you do it yourself get the tap to clean the threads out, TRUST ME on this!!

I have a 1999 chevy express 1500 conversion van. When the engine and transmission are hot due to long idles and hot outside temps the transmission shifts hard and jerking when in drive. If I shut off the engine and wait for 5 minutes and restart the problem goes away.
My father in-law has a 1999 Chevy Express Gladiator Conversion van that has only 8269 miles (not a typo). Its been driven to FL and back once and some around town driving. It's in excellent condition VIN: 1GBFG15R2X1025929. I would like to know how to get the current value for this van. New it was over $41,000 Thanks
1999 Chevy Express Conversion Van Is it Worth $10,000?

It has 80k miles, it is a conversion van, extended size, 1500, holds 7 or 8 people, but it is a flat top, Sherrod EVO I. It has no TV, cloth interior, towing package, running boards. I'm not really sure why it's a conversion van, since it doesn't have so many of the extras, but it is one. It's well taken care of and I know the owners. I do not ... Read More

I'll just relate my feelings on Express Vans. I'm an extremely experienced mechanic, with mega experience as an automobile enthusiest to the highest degree. I eat, sleep and live cars. I just recently bought a 1999 Express Van conversion vehicle by the now defunked Gaval Conversion Company. As much as I like Chevys and GM vehicles, I must say that I'm NOT impressed by the Express Van nor the work done ... Read More
I would like to sell my 1999 Conversion Van. It has a Geneva conversion package in mint condition with 18,000 miles on it. I would like to know if anyone has any information on where to get fair market pricing on these conversions or am I at the mercy of a dealership salesman. AGGGHHHH!!!
I have a 1500 that has had both the Catalytic converter and the muffler replaced twice. So counting original equipment, I am on my third of each. I do not haul or tow anything. It has 38000 miles on it as of this date. I have changed the fuel filter, used different gas etc. I am fed up with this van. My previous van (believe it or not) was a 1991 ... Read More
brake wear Ford 1-ton vans
Written by: fordvan on Sep 2, 2001 6:00:15 AM
I've read quite a few posts on this board concerning the premature wear/replacement of various brake components. As a point of reference for express/savanna owners, I have a 1999 E-350 passenger van with disc brakes on all four wheels, and with 50k miles has not required any brake maintenance at all. However, I have never towed anything and generally don't carry a lot of heavy cargo, so this may help to ... Read More
