GENEVA — The 2014 Audi RS Q3, the first RS Q model, will make its formal debut at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show.

The RS Q, which targets the Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG, will go on sale in Germany in the fall at the U.S. equivalent of $72,994.

Audi of America told Edmunds, "We haven't announced this for the U.S."

The Audi RS Q3 gets a distinctive look, courtesy of a high-gloss black honeycomb front grille and new bumpers. Other details include a roof spoiler, roof rails in matte aluminum and large elliptical tailpipes. The flagship Q3 also gets an exclusive body color — Sepang Blue pearl effect.

The cabin is outfitted with an instrument cluster with gray gauges and red needles and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with a flat bottom. A lap timer is included in the driver information system. A 14-speaker Bose audio system is optional.

Power comes from a 306-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine linked to a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission. The RS Q3 sprints from zero to 62 mph in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.

The engine is complemented by a standard stop-start system designed to conserve fuel.

Edmunds says: The U.S. misses out on the compelling RS Q3 for now.
