FRANKFURT, Germany — The redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Camaro convertible will be formally unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show and hit the U.S. market with a starting price of $31,990, including a $995 destination charge.

The refreshed 2014 Camaro coupe made its debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show in April. The Frankfurt show marks the first time that General Motors is showing the updated convertible at an auto show.

The starting price of the Camaro LT convertible with the 3.6-liter V6 engine reflects a $430 price increase over the base 2013 model.

The 2014 Camaro SS convertible with the 6.2-liter V8 engine starts at $39,950, including shipping.

The 2013 Camaro convertible starts at $31,560, including a $900 destination charge.

2014 Camaro convertibles should be arriving in dealerships soon, said Michael Albano, a Chevrolet spokesman.

The base 2014 Camaro convertible is $3,995 more expensive than its chief rival, the 2014 Ford Mustang V6 convertible. The Mustang convertible starts at $27,995, including a $795 destination charge.

The 2014 Camaro convertible gets the same updated sheetmetal as the coupe.
