    I have a 2005 Acura TL with 154k miles on it and I bought new floor mats at Acura of Tempe at about 100k miles. I noticed they sold RL floor mats for really any year so you may want to give them a call as they have a nice selection. My car is black with parchment interior and yes, the floor mats get dirty quick here in Phoenix.

    I have a 2005 Acura RL and have been told the passenger door handle has a short which is causing the interior light to stay on draining the battery. The mechanic wants to replace the door handle but it is pricey and wondering if the light activator can be disconnected to prevent the interior light from staying on - any help is appreciated

    I do not have any paint peeling, but the tailpipe extensions were redesigned in 2006 and our dealer replaced them with the new ones on our 2005 RL at no charge approximately 2 years ago.     I had the same problem when I turned off the lights / engine, and the trunk will popped open. That causes dead batteries a few times. I believe that it was a design oversight.

    The powertrain warranty is for 6 years and 70,000 miles so it still is in effect. I say buy the used Acura and save the $9,000 bucks for the repairs that likely will never come.

    My suggestion--get regular tires--you'll save quite a bit...however, the problem--same as before--NO SPARE...(:--(( I will NEVER again buy a run flat tire system in my life--more because of lack of a spare than the higher price--I always picture myself out in the middle of nowhere--with--a flat tire and no spare. BOO on Acura and Honda for this boondoggle.

    Hi guys. I got tempted by the local non-Acura dealer with their 2005 RL with 34,000 miles on it. I got the price at 21K OTD. It seems to be in a very good condition. What do you guys think? Any comments would be highly appreciated. If I decide to get it, is 100,000-mile/+4year warranty (Acura) worth $1,400? I'm thinking about it, too.

    I heard that the Dunlops aren't any good. Most say to get the Pilot Sport A/S. I talked to a guy at Sears and he stated that Dunlops have been discontinued. I guess I'll be looking at the Michelins. Thanks for the response.

    The OEM Michelin HX MXM4 tires cost $238 each on Tire Rack. Two better choices would be the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S at $223 or the Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asymmetrical at $180. Any of these can be shipped by Tire Rack to a reputable intaller and you can save at least $100 or more.

    I have a 2005 RL and have reset the oil life indicator without waiting for 0% to show. My Acura dealer and another service place, in addition to myself, have done so also. The procedure described in my owner's manual worked fine.

    As others have said, the maintenance and repairs for the cars you have listed could make a 10 year hold an expensive proposition. That said, I'd consider an Acura RL over the Audi A6.     2005 was the first year model of the current 2G RL, and it was not surprising it had some teething problems. Based on what I learned from another forum, 06 RLs are much better in terms of reliability and trouble free index.

    Acura doesn't seem to look after its customers or supervise the dealers very closely. Ours is pleasant but performs extra services without consent, and gets offended when payment is refused. I'm very happy with my Acura, but I won’t buy another because of the regrettable dealer experience.

    I've been going back and forth with my Acura dealership regarding the "noise". At this point they have replaced the drive shaft assembly (took care of the problem at 30mph but now its at 40+).
