2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe Review
Overview

The 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe is essentially a sportier version of the regular GV80 SUV. The interior and features list is quite similar, but you get a sloping roofline and more rakish appearance with the Coupe. The GV80 Coupe is available with two powertrains; the first is the top-tier powertrain from the SUV, while the second adds another 30 horsepower thanks to an electric supercharger.
Edmunds spotlight: GV80 Coupe is a lot of fun to drive
The GV80 Coupe is great to drive. You can buy coupe-style SUVs with more horsepower (the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe) but the GV80 Coupe has plenty. You'll feel a little lag when accelerating from a standstill, but once it gets going it gets up to highway speeds in a hurry. Steering is on the firm side, which is great for tackling winding roads. And the best part? It doesn't feel like you're sacrificing comfort in exchange for its sportiness.
Competitors to consider
The GV80's starting price is steep compared to competitors like the BMW X6 and Audi Q8. But the GV80 Coupe stays competitive thanks to its long list of standard features, including adaptive cruise control and ventilated seats in both rows. The rear seats are also six-way power-adjustable. And that's not even considering Genesis' generous 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Which GV80 Coupe does Edmunds recommend?
The base 3.5T trim comes so stacked with features that you're unlikely to miss anything offered on the e-Supercharger trim unless you're hankering for more power and a sportier look.

Genesis GV80 Coupe models
The 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe comes in two trims that are mainly distinguished by their powertrain. The 3.5T comes with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 (375 horsepower, 391 lb-ft) while the 3.5T e-Supercharger (also known as the e-SC) adds a 48-volt electric supercharger, increasing its power output to 409 horsepower and 405 lb-ft.
The 3.5T comes generously equipped with:
- 22-inch wheels
- Electronically controlled limited-slip differential
- Premium leather seating
- Three-zone climate control
- Power-adjustable second-row seats
- Ventilated rear seats
- Soft-close doors
- Power rear sunshades
- Digital rearview mirror (allows you to see out of the back even with a fully loaded cargo area)
The GV80 Coupe also boasts an impressive list of standard safety features, including:
- Forward collision warning with automatic braking (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
- Lane keeping assistance (steers the GV80 back into its lane if it begins to drift over the lane marker)
- Adaptive cruise control (adjusts speed to maintain a constant distance between the vehicle and the car in front; can also react to traffic signs and set speed)
- Blind-spot intervention (automatically steers the car back into its lane if you try to change lanes while a car is in the vehicle's blind spot)
- Rear cross-traffic warning (alerts you if a vehicle behind you is about to cross your path while you're in reverse and can automatically apply the brakes to avoid a collision)
- Parking sensors
Upgrading to the 3.5T e-Supercharger adds these sporty features:
- 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 48-volt e-Supercharger (409 hp, 405 lb-ft)
- Black front brake calipers
- 22-inch wheels
- Carbon-fiber trim pieces
- Alloy pedals

Pros: This car is loaded with more tech and safety features than you can shake a stick at. From heated arm rest, massaging driver seat, heated/cooled seats for front and rear passengers, auto closing doors to an amazing audio system and a gorgeous interior and exterior. Although this is the coupe version you really won’t loose that much space over the regular GV-80 and headroom in the … rear is better than I had expected it to be. If you are looking for a feature rich luxury SUV that’s stylish with the latest tech features then you can’t go wrong with the GV-80 coupe.
Cons: I only have two. One would be that the panoramic roof is rather small however this makes sense because of the coupe roofline and if it were larger headroom would have been compromised in the rear. The second would be that if you are looking to be pinned into the seat getting onto an interstate or passing you might want to look somewhere else. This isn’t to say that it doesn’t get up and go as it does but this version of the vehicle wouldn’t compete with an M series. Pretty sure Genesis is saving those specs for the Magma line.
Lastly, I saw many videos about this vehicle before purchasing but it looks much better in person. I believe this is a well executed coupe suv that looks much better than the competition and doesn’t skimp on luxury. The high level of exterior and interior detail is amazing!

I have had a Benz GLE as well as a Cayenne. I now have a GV 80 coupe. The genny far outclasses the other two. Comfort and great styling. Mileage is only average, but this Genesis far outclasses the field.

Love the style and the power the car delivers!! Very comfortable ride and sports feel from my perspective !! My only complaint is i wish it had rear passenger sunshades. Other than that I love it very much. Love the E-SC and how it save at the gas pump!!
